My Unhealth Obsession With Remington Steele

In order to put things in perspective i will attempt a mini dissertation on why i love this show. The year is 1982 and i was 10 years old. I remember seeing previews for the show and getting all excited because i thought Princess Leia was going to now be on TV. Little did i know that Stephanie Zimbalist and Carrie Fisher looked alike to me. Anyhoo i started watching the show and got really hooked. As time went on i began to collect various things related to the show, t-shirts, press clippings, etc. i found myself the president of a Remington Steele Fan Club and a Pierce Brosnan Fan Club in 1983. Through that i began collecting autograps of the cast (the fan club used to send them in the mail).
As i grew and the series progressed i stayed a fan. When the time for the show to end was near i was dissapointed and was one of the many who wrote in to NBC about my dissatisfaction. Lo and behold we saved the show or so we thought. It was really the fact that NBC wanted to ride the publicity of Brosnan being the new 007, that news sent Steele into the top 10 that summer in re-runs. So NBC enforced the last year of the contract and season five was slated. Shortly after the show ended it was picked up in sydication and has pretty much run ever since.
